Structure of transfer films:
In general, thermal transfer films with four layers are made from the base layer, the release layer, the ink layer, and the adhesive layer.
The base layer is the base on which ink and the adhesive are applied. It must be heat-resistant, pressure-resistant, and true to shape. Usually biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) is used.
The second layer is the release layer that has excellent adhesion with PET film in ordinary temperature after printing release solvent. After using pressure and heat, it can be easily separated from PET films, and be available to dye. The release solvent from our company has high abrasion and scratch resistance, good property of contour sharpness, solvent resistance, to protect the colors of the ink, decrease UV radiation, decrease the negative effects of air on the ink, and increase lifespan of ink.
The third layer is the ink layer that can recreate detailed graphics of virtually any design with photo quality.
The fourth layer is the adhesive layer that is required to keep the ink layer and the receiving material tightly bonded. Different adhesives are used with varying receiving plastic materials, to keep the chemical bond to the receiving material strong.
